It has been a very successful summer for our oldest teams at 1776 United.
Our Under 23 Men's team finisshed second in their EDP division, while our U20 Women were given an extra year's eligibility in youth soccer due to the missed opportunities last year with Covid.
They took that opportunity to enter the State Cup, winning their fifth straight State Championship. They then represented the state at the Eastern Region Championships and won their second straight east coast title. This gave them a trip to Florida to compete with the last 8 in the country for the national championship. They went down to the national finals missing several key players who were called back to their various college programs but the girls that did go still represented the club, playing at the highest level, with real quality. A few of our younger girls in the program were able to train with this team during the summer and for a few, actually compete in games against college players 5 or 6 years older than them. A great experience and a great way to tune up for their college seasons. You have made our club extremely proud.
